Lazy L&L Campground – 11699 River Rd

Possibly one of the greatest RV parks ever, located directly on the banks of the Guadalupe. This is a great place for nature lovers, those who want to go tubing or those who simply want to relax. Though free Wifi is available, if you still wish to remain connected to the outside world.

All sites are level and offer 30/50 amp full hookups, a picnic area, BBQ grill and fire ring. No pets are allowed on the campground unless you are a monthly guest, staying between October and April.

With easy access down to the lake, bring your own equipment and life jackets or even rent them from Lazy L&L. Shuttle services are available if you plan on heading to the main part of the river.

When using your own tubes, you will still need to pay for a wristband for the shuttle journey back. If you fancy trout fishing, then take advantage of the private access available, though it is worth noting that a small fee for fishing is payable to Lazy L&L.

There are well equipped restrooms available and you will find that everything about the place is very clean. A dollar token will get you a 6 minute hot shower in the restrooms.

Campers are always welcome at the Lazy L&L campground, with electric hookups and water readily available. Although you may find an RV is more comfortable as caliche dust can be a problem, so be prepared to dust yourself down a lot. Security is great on the site, with all vehicles checked upon re-entry to the park, giving you some reassurance.

Because of the location, you will find Lazy L&L is pricier than most New Braunfels campgrounds, though when you visit you will understand why.

KL Ranch Camp – On The River – 5455 River Rd

Be warned this Guadalupe river camping ground gets booked up FAST, so make sure you book as soon as you know when you want to stay. Camping season kicks off on March 3rd at 2pm and it looks like River Road is in for another busy season with reservations.

The private, family owned and operated campground offers accommodation for RV’s, tents, alongside day use and space for group events. RV sites include 30 amp or 50 amp, water and electricity, and tent sites are available with and without electricity.

Rest and quiet hours are between 11pm and 7am, allowing campers to stop any loud disturbances and have the opportunity to sleep peacefully, or to marvel at the night sky.

No profanities are allowed either, you have been warned and security are on hand to enforce quiet time and no swears. Pets are also not allowed on site and there is no Wi-Fi, so bear that in mind before booking.

You can easily grab a hot shower (for a small fee) in the clean restrooms and also wash and dry your clothes in the on-site laundry. A small shop is available offering supplies, but other campgrounds do offer extra things in terms of amenities. However, if you want to strip back and just enjoy your natural surroundings, this is the place to be!

There are no tube rentals at the campground, though you can easily pick up gear up from one of several rental outfitters within 1/2 mile. There are pretty strict rules for using the river around the property so make sure you are up on these before you visit.

KL Ranch Cliffside – 5300 River Rd

If you are looking for a primitive camping experience, then Cliffside is the perfect place for you. Choose a site with riverfront views or for the adventurous, why not choose one of the cave sites instead, the choice is all yours!

This picturesque base is nestled between a stunning cliff and the beautiful Guadalupe, giving guests a tranquil surrounding for their stay.

With a picnic table and fire pit / grill at each site, the Cliffside resort features a well stocked store for any necessities or supplies you may need. Hot showers are available in the clean restrooms, at a cost of 4 quarters for 6 minutes.

A really popular place for camping as the trees dotted around offer much needed shade during the warmer months. Most pitches offer dry sites, solid picnic table and fire ring, and most importantly, the sites are level. Meaning that you aren’t rolling around!

With clean restrooms, hot showers (for a fee) and on-site store, the Cliffside campground has you totally covered!

Camp FimFo Texas Hill Country – 520 Whitewater Way

Offering a memorable trip, there really is something for everyone to enjoy when staying here. Canyon cabins are very spacious and comfortable, making them a great alternative to stay in. This campsite is one of the best concrete RV sites.
