My Favourite Places to Eat in Warsaw (Tried and Tested)

One of my favourite things about exploring a new city is finding places to eat that you genuinely want to go back to and Warsaw was full of them.

After two summer trips to Poland’s capital, I can safely say the food scene was one of the things that surprised me most. From loaded nachos and dreamy brunches to traditional Polish dishes, loaded fries and relaxed people-watching spots, Warsaw gave us a proper mix.

Hard Rock Cafe Warsaw – ul. Zlota 59

Okay, I know what you’re thinking… Hard Rock? In Warsaw? But hear me out. This isn’t just a tourist trap, it was our first meal in the city on the day we arrived and it hit the spot perfectly.

We kicked things off with fully loaded nachos, because if you’re going to eat like an American rock star, you may as well lean in.

Then came the Lionel Messi Chicken Burger – yes, that’s actually what it’s called – and it was a beast (in the best way). Juicy, packed with flavour and served with unlimited soft drinks, which was much appreciated after a long travel day.

Comfort food, central location, decent prices. What’s not to love?

The Fry – Elektrownia Powiśle Food Hall

This place is heaven for snack lovers. Tucked inside the trendy Elektrownia Powiśle food hall, The Fry serves seriously addictive loaded fries.

We chose the cheese and bacon ones (because… obviously) and honestly, they could’ve doubled as a main course. Salty, gooey, crisp and totally worth queuing for. Great spot if you want something quick, casual and dangerously moreish.

Bułkę przez Bibułkę – Zgoda 3

If you’re a brunch person (and let’s be honest, who isn’t these days?), you have to check out Bułkę przez Bibułkę. It’s one of those places where you’ll probably need to queue outside for a table, but trust me, it’s worth it.

We had the pancakes with fresh berries and I’m still dreaming about them!

Soft, fluffy, just the right amount of sweetness, the kind of breakfast that makes you want to order seconds. The vibes were cosy and cool, the staff super friendly and the coffee? Strong and on point.

Specjały Regionalne – Nowy Świat 44

This was our little detour into more traditional Polish flavours and wow, what a surprise gem. Tucked on the always-buzzing Nowy Świat street, Specjały Regionalne serves up proper regional Polish dishes with a slightly modern twist.

I ordered the duck salad and I swear it was one of the most flavour-packed salads I’ve ever had. Rich, tender duck, fresh greens and salad, with a tangy dressing that balanced everything perfectly. If you want a break from carb-heavy plates, this is your spot.

La Cantina Warszawa – Nowy Świat 64

This place? Pure magic. It quickly became my favourite spot to sit with a drink and just watch the world go by. Right on Nowy Świat, one of Warsaw’s most charming streets, La Cantina offers both great food and prime people-watching.

I ordered their ‘La Cantina Special’, which was basically a lamb gyro-style dish, soaked in a rich tomato sauce and served over warm, pillowy pida bread. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The dish is HUGE, so make sure you are ready for a very filling meal – or it’s great to share!

These were easily some of my favourite places to eat in Warsaw and each one gave us something completely different, from casual comfort food and indulgent brunches to traditional Polish flavours and laid-back meals on one of the city’s busiest streets.
